The Land we Looked At

Todays Challenge:
  ✍
 "Think like a dreamer who sees a challenge as something that i make work in my favor"

Yesterday we went to look at the land i posted pics of yesterday. It was grown up but the area we would want to put a house slopped downhill. Soooo..........we will keep looking!!! That reminds me to call the Realtor and have her be on the look out.(If this font is hard to read please let me know and i will change it.)
We have an old shed i put alot of flowers aroun in pots, and in the ground. Trying to get a country feeling! 2010
Getting out in the country yesterday just brought back the peace and solitude i remember from yrs ago.

I love these rugs on hard wood floors. I have still have a few!
If photo's are not my own click on the photo!

There are many good country blog's i finally figured out how to find! If i happen to post one of your photo's i find from somewhere other than your site and you rather i not use it with your link please just say so!

This is a light pink rose bush in our yard up against our back porch. It gets HUGE. This is the first year it's had a bright pink rose. :) I'm trying out a new camera and not having the best results yet....!

ღ One bright pink rose on our huge light pink rose bush!ღ

We have an old shed on the property so i have made a little country out of it or at least tried to! The more rustic the better i like it!
(This is a photo of a photo)

 I love dark shadows and light! I got this on the side of the old shed.

My old camera wore out and i'm trying a new one, not sure about it but my favorite photo's are darks and lights. Shadows are so interesting and i learned the importance of them when oil painting

This is one of our 2 cats Fred. And yes, this is how he always looks-meowing!

I've decided to finally get back to jewelry making. This is the first wire wrapped stone in years...It does take practice to start over! I do enjoy it. It's relaxing and i do feel like I've accomplished something.

Supper Menu: "Easy Recipes" and Healthy Eating!
From the farmers market---Fresh Green Beans,Fresh Squash and Brown Rice from the store (if you can't get to a farmers market get fresh from your grocery store.)

Fresh Green Beans

  ❤    ❤    ❤
I grew up in the city & never was taught to cook, nadda!. This was the first time I've Ever fixed fresh Green Beans!
                                  ~~~~~~~~
(I used a large sauce pan 3qt on a small burner)
1/   Broke the ends off and then snapped them into regular size green beans. and added about 1/4 cup of lentils
 (lentils are not only about the best bean for you but they add taste!) they are dried beans. We've never fixed them by themselves; always with other dried beans or something that needed an extra little flavor. A couple we know never ate green beans because they didn't like them. I cooked them w/lentils and had them try it w/out telling them what i added They loved it and now eat green beans!!!) Look lentils up and see what you can learn about them.  artical about fiber/lentils
2/  Washed them thoroughly
3/  Put  them in pot with water covering them over the top of the green beans
4/  a little bit of virgin olive oil-half to whole teaspoon
  (Can use onion but i used it in the squash)
5/  salt and pepper
6/    Stir every few minutes
-----> It took about 35-45 minutes for them to cook, and i added a little more salt and pepper when they were done & left them on low to simmer with lid on----don't let the water cook out.<-----
They turned out Great!
Squash
❤    ❤    ❤
( I get the smaller squash- they tend to not be as tough)
( Cook in a large frying size pan on large burner---I only use stainless steal & will explain why in another post)
1/   I cut them the hard ends off and then cut them in thin slices
2/   Then i stack the slices and cut them in half twice
3/   Add onions as you like them to taste
4/   add a little water and start them on high
5/   once they are boiling turn down to medium or lower depending on your stove--- meanwhile stirring often.
6/   add a little pepper to taste
7/   let simmer on low with lid on
(the squash does not have to be soggy, but i don't care for it crisp either.)
Brown Rice
  ❤    ❤    ❤
1/ Add 2 Cups water to sauce pan on small burner
2/  Add a little margarine to the water
3/  bring to a boil
4/  add a cup of rice asap
5/ stir before and during boiling
6/  let boiling a minute or so then turn to simmer
7/ keep stirring until lid no longer tries to jump off the pot :)
8/ leave lid on for about 30 minutes and check and stir
9/  If it seems a little dry before serving add a little milk until it no longer taste dry!
Some people like meat with every meal but we like veggies and fruit. Also it's not as expensive! We do eat fish at least once a week. There are some good simple ways to fix supper on the grill too I'll share later!
Even though i grew up in the city i plan on learning how to grow organic veggies and fruit! I can do any kind of perennial garden But veggies i do not feel very equipped to do....Yikes!
So my footprints will be wondering around the blogs I've found seeing what i can learn and looking you all up on twitter.
 NOTE: So i will follow some of you around who do what i want to learn!
I find the best i can at what i need to know then learn everything i can from them! With twitter you can do this and follow their mentors also!
